There were reports on social media that R&N Police managed to arrest the trespasser.

Also heard mixed reports on whether he was a railfan or just a local walking the tracks.

I know a couple years ago on a Trains Mag charter over the Rutland with GMRC 405, we nearly wiped out a local who was walking through the tunnel under Middlebury, VT.

I watched the video of the person that was trespassing on R&N property,, he was lucky that he did not get killed... But I do hope the Reading & Northern police did not let him off with just a hand slap... for trespassing.

When 2102 came around the curve the crew did not expect to find someone, in the Tamaqua tunnel walking the track... If this person fell down,,while the train coming he would have been killed... But he managed to get out of the way... luck was on his side..this time...

I am just guessing that the Reading & Northern will have there police force watching the tunnel from time to time,, especially when Steam runs.... on the line. that is my 2 cents on the subject... a photo shot is not worth anyone getting hurt or killed,, on any railroad line... Pat.

Trains don't fit tunnels like a piston in engine cylinder. Yes, he was in the tunnel, but when you get out of the gauge of the track - there is sufficient room for a train to pass a person - as long as there are no Wide Loads in the train.

Yes, the trespasser hasn't thought about any of this, that is why he is trespassing.
