Hope that somebody recorded some interviews with Joe, but considering how fouled up the restoration project became, they probably did not.

The Nobska four cylinder triple expansion engine now rests at the East Greenwich Wireless and Steam Museum. The Museum was astonished when I told them I had the patterns that I made to replace missing cylinder and valve covers, I saved the patterns. Also the casting for some of the missing parts, I recovered the casting from a scrap yard. The engine was received from WRH Industries after Warren Hartwell died. Warren Hartwell was last officer of the New England Steam Foundation. There were other Nobska parts in his warehouse, I am not sure what happened to them. I never recovered a 1 1/2" steam whistle valve and a 1/2" Penberthy injector used on a boiler to blow the steam whistle.

I had no idea the WRHS had drifted into financial trouble. I'd say I'm glad it has not been shuttered and totally sold off.

I say this because I've done research on the Nickel Plate in their library. The material is outstanding and the staff are models of cooperation. There may be better sources of NKP matrial elsewhere, but I have not found that place(s).
