A Sheet illustrating the setup of the two Injectors on Climax A-313 with some parts missing, mis-sized and misaligned but generally correct with the #6 Penberthy and the #8 The Leader injectors. The Leader is a rough draft placeholder scaled from a photo with a tape measure providing scale.

Over view of the A-313 Engine and accessory piping based upon the information, parts and few photos available.

Subject to change as parts and assemblies are ID'ed and additional info becomes available.

A-313 has a Single Hydrostatic Lubricator for the Engine Cylinders located just above the Throttle. Later Engines had two (2) Hydrostatic Lubricators located on the Elbows of the Steam Line just above the Cylinders. The date when the change was made is unknown.

See attached jpg.

The work to recreate/reassemble the piping connecting the Injectors/Boiler/Cistern is a Work in Progress. The few photos available are old, blurry, out of focus, leave areas hidden by parts between the camera and what one wants to see and taken from positions which are less than ideal.

One photo APPEARS to show a drain line from THE LEADER injector, however its possible/probable connection to that injector is obscured as is the pipe line below the valve. The location appears to be right but I do not assume anything.

Any Steam Heads out there who can tell me why a drain line from an injector would have a Tee & Plug (the Plug may have been installed to keep waste out of the line after removing some part?) and the Valve would be installed.

Edit: It is my after thought that the Tee & Plug were used to create an air gap so that the line would drain. The reason for the Valve still eludes me.

A screenshot of my most recent iteration of the injector piping and the specific line are below.

Very successful day at the CORRY RAILS shop. Found all the Injector piping and the Steam Supply Line & Lubricator for the Steam Brake Throttle. Compare the photos to the CADD assembly and one can observe the similarities and differences. The Steam Brake Supply line replaces the Steam Supply Line shown in my CADD model. The two (2) "Tees" in the Boiler side of the Injectors may be Check Valves -TBD. Note that the "Rear" Injector Piping has been twisted out of alignment during disassembly or storage.

A couple of views of the revised Injector setup on Climax A-313. Modified to reflect the actual piping found. The biggest changes are to Tail Pieces which connect to the Injectors and the two (2) Check Valves which I had not identified due the quality of the photos and lack thereof. No other real changes.

Valves are modern but will be changed to period pieces when I have time. The LEADER is correct as to size, etc., but the Handle is done from a dimensioned photo.

Thanks for documenting and sharing the journey. It's too bad Keith wasn't able to see it.

Three views of the Steam & Water piping and controls of the engine of Climax A-313. It has taken a year after figuring out the Frame, Boiler & Cab to reach this point in the pipe reassembly process. Only the basic frame is determined and for which drawings have been prepared. The rest of the locomotive as has been shown here on RPN should be considered a Reassembly Diagram to assist CORRY R.A.I.L.S. in rebuilding the locomotive and making decisions about that rebuilding. None of which except on the Frame and the Boiler which is at the boiler maker have been made final. Lots of prep work though!

Climax A-313 Assembly Diagram almost complete. The Boiler Feedwater Line did go through the rear cleanout plug but it is still unknown if a Check Valve was just under the floor before the valve. The Sandbox is a placeholder pending detailed measurements but is close as it is based on SN 1551. Note the Lid in the roof was access to permit pouring sand into the Sandbox.

The cylinder lubricator is missing but was mounted at the fitting projectiong out of the pipe just above the throttle.
