Bill and Debbie Hatrick's popular mid-century passenger cars, recently "retired" from regular Amtrak mainline service, are looking for a new home. Our two cars are well maintained and are prime examples of post war passenger equipment, a 1949 built (ex SP) club lounge featuring a stunning main salon, a classic quarter circle bar and a very rare barbershop. The chair car was built in 1950 for UP as a 44 seater (two benches currently removed for food service), it features a comfortable chair compartment with excellent windows and a small kitchen (but big enough to serve 76 people a full single entree dinner). The chair car also is generator equipped and can easily backfeed the lounge.

We are looking for a property were all can benefit with the addition of a couple of premium cars with a combined 72 seats. We would consider relocating to be near the cars if a long term relationship were to develop. To see the cars, please visit http://www.larail.com (click on the appropriate link to see Overland Trail and Pacific Trail) or visit the Heritage Rail Alliance page for additional info and photos at: https://www.atrrm.org/2018/06/private-r ... or-a-home/ Email - ConductorBill@LARail.com

As additional information, both cars have been "gently reconfigured"
for special events. Furniture removed and dance floors added, for example.

Sure, it's not very productive space today, but the Overland carries the last operating railroad barbershop ... formerly, we had a barber aboard at least once a year. The room has a lot of "Gee whiz!" value, people are surprised by the fact that many premium trains of old had barbershops.
The barbershop also has a shower/toilet room annex. Railroad barbers typically performed ironing services and presided over the shower, you can see the 32V "American Beauty" iron on the wall.

Although the Overland Trail and the Pacific Trail are painted two tone gray, we are not against allowing the cars to be painted in the "company colors" of their host railroad.

The market is saturated with many suitable railroad passenger cars available for short line and tourist service and the car prices and lease rates are dropping. Hopefully you can find a home for the cars instead of them sitting idle or making a museum donation.

The two cars (72 additional seats!) can be ready for the coming Christmas season ... are you continuing to grow your Polar Express or Santa train? We may be able to help. 25% of the per seat revenue of the two cars for us, the rest for you! Please contact with your ideas.

Hi, Bill!

I'm the Road Foreman of Engines at Placerville & Sacramento Valley Railroad in Folsom, Calif. We are at capacity with our current trainset, and we're expanding in 2019.

I'd love to talk to you about possible options. Please PM me if you'd like to discuss.

Thanks! :)
