Post subject:  "216 Miles On The Adirondack RR: Utica-Tupper Lake NY"

This video features highlights of Adirondack Railroad's Oct 29th 216 mile roundtrip run between Utica-Tupper Lake NY. According to the Adirondack, this trip is the longest excursion run east of the Mississippi. The first public run to Tupper Lake occurred in 2022 after an approximate 20 million $ plus upgrade of the line, from Remsen's Snow Jct (where Adirondack's home rails begin) to Tupper Lake. Prior to the upgrade, there was no service north of Big Moose to Tupper Lake, a 45-mile stretch of tracks.

Trips to Tupper Lake in 2023 were suspended for over two months due to washouts occurring during an August storm. The washout locations are featured in the video.

The first 23 miles of the route are on the Mohawk, Adirondack & Northern. The 85 miles of track operated by the Adirondack were once part of NY Central's Adirondack Division.

With a senior citizen discount, coach fare was $70.00.
