Post subject:  "Roaring Up Big Moose Hill" Adirondack Railroad

On Oct 16th, the Adirondack Railroad operated the first revenue passenger train between Utica-Tupper Lake NY (107 miles) in 42 years. 85 miles of this journey is on tracks once operated by the New York Central (Adirondack Division).

The route includes Big Moose Hill, one of the stiffest mainline grades on the NY Central. The summit of the Adirondack Division (2040 ft) is reached about 1/3 mile north of the old Big Moose passenger station.
