Post subject:  Autumn Railroading in the Adirondacks

I videoed Adirondack Scenic's Utica-Thendara, NY run yesterday catching the train both northbound and southbound in Forestport, approx 33 miles north of Utica.

Also, grabbed this photo of No. 1502 leading its train over the Mohawk River, Utica, at the beginning of its run north.

Thank you for posting these videos of this beautiful railroad.

Part of it is exempted because the owning entity, the State of New York, has allegedly never invested the money promised for it, but where the money has been spent, there is one really nice railroad, with track in some sections that have decent speeds available--in this case, a stretch of about 10 miles between Remsen and Otter Lake at 45 mph:

Check out the dynamic brake housing on the first motor, in the first picture in this thread !!! Looks like something you'd see on one of those "There, I fixed it" type websites. You know, with pictures of rednecks cooling their cars with a room air conditioner duct taped inside the passenger window (supported by a shopping cart), or maybe a big fork lift picking up a little fork lift, so they can reach into a tight spot...
