It's been a busy first quarter of the year fundraising for the restoration of Boston & Maine #3713 at the Steamtown National Historic Site in Scranton, PA. Here's what's going on:

The Erie Limited 'Limited' on the Delaware, Lackawaxen & Stourbridge June 10, 2017. Photo run bys and accommodations in coach, caboose, lounge and "president's class" on B&O #97. Cab rides on BL2 #54 will be auctioned on eBay. The trip benefits Project3713. Tickets range from $35-$250. Details and tickets at: http://www.project3713.com/erie_limited_june_10/

Our Spring Mixer on May 4th at the Susquehanna Brewing Company in Pittston, PA is shaping up to be a great night out. Originally booked for the brewery's tasting room, ticket demad was so strong that we've expanded the event out onto the brewing floor. Great music and food will complement the SBC's own brews. Updates on the restoration will be presented. This is a great chance to meet the team and your fellow #3713 supporters. (And yes, we know it is Star Wars day. You are welcome to come in cos). Tickets are $25 with a cash bar. Details and tickets at: http://www.project3713.com/spring-mixer ... ay-4-2017/

We are also happy to announce that the Scranton Area Community Foundation has awarded a grant of $3,703 for the purchase of one new safety valve. #3713 requires three of them, and the SAF has moved us 1/3 of the way closer to our goal. Thank you Scranton Area Community Foundation! If you’d like to help, we have a GoFundMe campaign active for another safety valve. As of April 2, our generous supporters have donated $535 towards the safety valve fund: https://www.gofundme.com/project3713-safety-valve-1

Is there more news coming? Yes, yes there is. Stay tuned to us on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/Project3713/ and the web http://www.project3713.com/. You can sign up for our email list at the website, too.

All the best,
Rob Davis

What, they couldn't throw in an extra 10 bucks to make it match the engine number? :P ;)

Big news on the Thursday night event.

Our catering for the night (included in your ticket price) will be provided by the incredible BBQ by Barry's B3Q Smokehouse. This is a late change, but frankly it has us very excited. If you have had Barry's food you know how good it is. If you haven't, well, prepare for BBQ delights. Over the years, people have been so taken with Barry's work that they hoard his sauce by the jar.

We'd like to think supporting #3713 and having a beer is a good reason to come out on a Thursday, but having Barry's food makes it even better.

Tickets are still available, though limited. Don't wait, order now: http://www.project3713.com/
