What wrecking crane is in front of NW 514924 in the photo at URL below? http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/showPi ... id=2353971 Link to above photo found via: http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/rslist ... NW&Page=71 It does appear to have a 5 or 6 trailing its number but the vertical pane windows on the rear of the cab rule out the wrecker as being 514925. Any suggestions? John |

Hi, The distant crane appears to be of Southern and not N&W lettering. Both are NS. I'd look into Southern Railway records. Doug vV |

That's SOU 903026... http://southern.railfan.net/images/archive/southern/mow/903026.jpg SOU 903025 was formerly Norfolk Southern 900, a much smaller derrick... |

That is Industrial Brownhoist #12486 250t DW 1960 Southern Ry #D4 to #903026 Norfolk Southern #903026 When was it scrapped? |
