I have deleted a few posts that got out of hand. A few people have asked that this thread be locked; I am not doing that at this time, but the moderators will be watching it closely. This isn't a place for name calling, childish behavior, etc...

Thanks,

Jeff Terry

I'd rather see it kept open or someone will just start a new thread. You could do anything, build a museum where it sits, lay some operating track for it to exersize on, maybe generate small revenue with small runs. I always suggest full restoration of an engine for its restoration than cosmetic which keeps an engine fresh, than rusting away. We all hope the best for this engine, everyone here does and shows concern at whatever level they express.

Just keep rooting.

I may have something to add to this thread sometime later.

Ross, there's a real simple solution to your concern about flagellating a deceased equine.

Don't like this discussion? Don't read it!

Let the mods do their job and as long as it's just pie-in-the-sky chattering (maybe if we get some Chinook helicopters...) why not let them play. There's plenty of folks around to tell them "Well, that won't work and here's why."

Don't you mean "equine?" An equestrian is the person riding the horse. :-)

I sure hope Mr. Campbell appreciates all of our plans for his locomotive.

It was. My thanks to you and Dr. Hofstadter for pointing that out.
