I do not have to log in on the RYPN preservation forum. Why must I log in to view this forum? Am I doing something wrong?

My mistake, Dave. When I created the Railfanning forum, I failed to give Guest users (unlogged in folk) Read access to this forum. That has been corrected and tested. Have a great day!

Thanks Doug. Glad to know the issue is now resolved.

I thought it was a feature, to keep this forum from taking over RyPN, as a kind of "club lounge". Could be wrong.

You do know that when you log in, there's a "stay logged in" checkbox that you should always check unless you're surfing at the library. Clicking that button assures that RyPN doesn't "log you out" while you're writing a post. (if it does, you typically lose the post.) On my forums, that's on by default.

Hmm, I'm starting to see Bobyaring/Sloaning of this forum - e.g. large number of "new threads" being created by 1 poster for the solitary purpose of posting a link to 1 youtube video. Conspicuous when there are many such threads on the same subject. Also when many of the threads have 0 replies.

Rule of thumb - 2/10. Once you've started 2 threads, wait til 10 more threads are started by others before continuing.
