| Post subject: | GRAND RAPIDS & INDIANA RR - Class GG-4 or GG-4a |
Would like to source workshop drawings for either of these 4-6-0 locomotives as manufactured by Burnham, Williams and Co around 1900. Sufficient dimensional detail required for illustrative purposes only. I have tried all the usual suspects I could identify but so far have only been able to find hard copies. I am really hoping to find some digital access as I am located in Tasmania. Any help or advice would be appreciated. Regards, Ken Greig |

Have you checked the DeGolyer Library at Southern Methodist University? I gave away all my finding aids to their collection but according to one of their online engine specifications spreadsheets, there were 4 GR&I locos built in 1898 and 4 more in 1899. All were type 10-32 D. This type loco was also produced for Atlantic Coast Line, Ann Arbor, Copper Range, Missouri Kansas & Texas, California Northern, Veracruz al Pacifico Ferracarril de. Richmond Fredricksburg & Potomac got some in 1901 and I believe there is a basic outline in the book done by Richard Prince. Just trying to help. Good luck! |

Thanks Adam, I didn't do a deep search at SMU as their process for dealing with overseas customers with digital requirements seems a bit problematic. They do however appear to have an extensive archive so if I don't stumble across anything else I will probably have to revisit that option. Thanks for your advice.. |
