Stumbled across a listing for an ex railroad property, with roundhouse, but no turntable.

Built in 1908 to service diesel locomotives?

I got a chuckle out of that part of the listing as well.

So where this is begs a question. Is this a old BAR or MEC facility, given it seems to be right at the junction between the two railroads right outside of town?

This is at "Northern Maine Junction", just outside of Bangor, Maine. The closest active preservation effort (distance-wise) is occurring at the Downeast Scenic Railroad, but there are many miles of out of service and in-service (CSX) track between them.

The site is the former junction of the Maine Central (now CSX) and Bangor and Aroostook (now CPKC). I believe the roundhouse is ex-BAR, but I might be incorrect.

Given the nature of the site, and other preservation efforts that need support, I suspect that spot now served by TWO Class 1 railroads (where there were 0 Class 1's just a few years ago) would make it ideal for industrial redevelopment, rather than a museum (or home base for a tourist railroad.)

It's a real estate ad. They're all works of fiction.
