Mid-Continent Railway Museum in North Freedom, Wi. is attempting to dispose of 2 non-collection coaches rather than scrapping. Details include:

Specific information on CRI&P #1094 is here: https://www.midcontinent.org/equipment- ... ific-1094/

Specific information on CN #5375 is here: https://www.midcontinent.org/equipment- ... onal-5375/

As noted in the first attachment if a home is not found by the end of our season then we will remove some items compatible with the rest of our fleet and then scrapping arrangements will be made.

What is the ~weight per truck and body?
How long are the bodys between couplers?
Are they in North Freedom? Location accessible to tuck loading?
Actual pictures? The midcontinent.org pics are not really new...

I am not much into the passenger cars nor am I part of the office staff. I'm not speaking for the Museum. I am only speaking as a member to share what scant information I have.
Best guess of approximately 70 to 90 tons total and about 70 to 85 feet long overall.
Yes they are in North Freedom and there is good access to load from the tracks to a truck but it would need coordination to work around our passenger trips.
The cars are virtually unchanged from the 2000 pictures............MLD

I can't remember his name, but maybe the guy that owns the new Rock Island might be interested in the Rock Island one for operation in his new purchase in Kansas, the former Midland Railway? Could be converted to an open air car where the baggage door could be open and build a half door out of steel or something and riders could stand there like they do on Sugar Express. That's the reason I make the trek cross country to ride Sugar Express!

Combines are useful for wheelchair access, even though historical equipment isn't required to have it.

The usual, trying for years....,will scrap if no one takes.... Yet in 2023 not one photo on their website or their listing of the coaches!

It's a geezer mindset, I am the older generation yet I embrace technology.

If (and only if) these get scrapped will there be an opportunity to acquire components from the Pullman 5375? The doors and traps look in decent shape in those photos (old photos?).

Asking early since there often isn't a lot of notice on these sorts of things and scrappers tend to scrap quickly.
