This is a 1940s Plymouth 5-ton model FLH locomotive. Hercules 6 cylinder gas engine with magneto ignition. Manual transmission. Mechanically rebuilt/restored to basic operating condition. Incomplete new cab, fuel, electrical and air system.

Located in Galion, OH. Photo album here: https://photos.app.goo.gl/7phrz6TvMgtEeYkr5
The first 4 photos show present state. The remainder show restoration process in reverse order. Look for captions on each photo for related comments / info.

Loco was completely torn down and all mechanicals redone/refreshed and brought to basic operating condition and test run with temporary fuel system. This work included sandblasting and repainting the frame, reprofiling the wheels, new brakes, new springs, new drive chain, rebuilt clutch, and a probably low-time near identical engine from a RR crane being scrapped (the original engine also included as potential parts)

Larger cab, running boards, raised hood to make it look more like a 15-25 ton are framed up but not finished. A set of windows (included) became available from an old full-size loco so the new cab is framed to hold these. Project lapsed from there due to acquisition of an 8-ton HSD which we currently use.

(Like most Plymouths of this design, it could be pretty easily converted to 30" or 24" gauge. The axles have no shoulders and there is room to press the wheels in as far as 24". The brakes hang from shafts also and likewise can be slid inward. Our 8-ton HSD was similarly converted from 42" to our 36" gauge).

Asking $12,000. Serious inquiries only. You must be able to haul it from Galion OH. Stored on farm trailer about 26-28 high so should be able to roll across onto a similar height trailer or flatbed. With everything added plus the "spare" motor, expect the load to be 11,000+ pounds.
