The Steam Railroading Institute has decided to offer former Northern Pacific 8-6-4 sleeping car 372 for sale. The car, a 1954 Pullman built car, was used on Northern Pacific's famous North Coast Limited. It was sold to Amtrak in 1971 who later sold it to the Ringling Brothers & Barnum & Bailey Circus in 1994. Sold again, this time in 2001, to a private owner from who the Steam Railroading Institute purchased it from in 2019.

Our original intention was to restore this car for use as a crew dormitory while away from our home base in Owosso; we understand this goal is a number of years away and are making this car available for other interested parties to add to their collection.

The proceeds from this sale will directly go towards the restoration and stabilization of our former Chesapeake & Ohio 10-6 sleeping car 2624, the “City of Ashland."
We are asking $17,500 for 372.

Interested parties are encouraged to send an email to Aaron Farmer at aaronf@michigansteamtrain.com to schedule an inspection.
