The ALCO Historical & Technical Society is making available our ex-Delaware & Hudson baggage car. The car is available free of charge to any not-for-profit Railroad Historical Museum/Preservation Group with a proven track record of being good stewards of preserved and/or operating railroad equipment. Alternatively the AH&TS will entertain reasonable cash offers from private individuals, tourist/scenic railroads, and short-line common carriers. Unfortunately due to access restrictions, we are not able to provide current photos without trespassing. Our understanding is that the car will require significant work to return to service. However the new owners may elect to use the car for stationary storage or for parts to repair other cars. Please understand that the car is currently land-locked in Glenmont, NY and is not available for inspection at this time (once again due to property access restrictions under the current owned). Please understand that in taking possession of this car the new owners are getting the legal rights to remove the car from the property once the time the sale of property in Glenmont changes hands (as part of an expansion project in cooperation with NYS).
Unfortunately if a new owner is not found by the time the property changes hands, we may be forced to scrap the car on-site. The AH&TS is not presently in the position to relocate the car when the property changes hands. Because we do not want to see the car scrapped we are making its disposition known at this time based on the current facts of the situation at hand. The photo attached in the link is from over ten years ago. We do not have current photos of the car (reference the property access limitations mentioned earlier). There may be other multimedia (photos/images, video) taken by third parties that may aid in visualizing the current condition of the car.
Please only serious parties and serious offers. Also we are not involved with, nor do we have any information regarding the other equipment at this location.

Update: The Port of Albany has completed purchase of the land where this and other equipment is located and has given a short window for the equipment to be moved. The Danbury Railway Museum is moving forward with a plan to move their equipment off site and moving of this car can be combined in that effort by the purchasing party. If the car does not find a new owner it will be scrapped along with some other equipment on site.
