Museum/Railway operator in NC has small inventory of parts for series D-1879 six cylinder Buda diesels. Heads (each for two cylinders) one core, one rebuilt with seated valves. Used pistons with rods, various piping and other external to block pieces.

Trying to find good home for parts where needed - for a reasonable price or donation.

If someone really needed big parts we have 2 covered semi-serviceable engines in locomotive that could be parts source for $ or trade.

All subject to final approval by organization management.

PM or email to info@nhvry.org

I have no stake here - But I know the Trolley Museum of NY has a Whitcomb with a Buda, and they needed some parts, but I am not in contact with them anymore.

Same goes for the ARHS (Anthracite Roads Historical Society) owned Whitcomb at the Wanamaker Kempton & Southern. I don't know what the specific problems were that has it sidelined, but I remember hearing about mechanical problems and lack of rare Buda parts.

I think we have communicated to both in the past, but have been unable to confirm a commitment for sale or pick up. The heads would require either crate style LTL or a medium to heavy truck or trailer. We'd really like to be good stewards of these and put in the hands of someone who could use them.

I have reached out to all 3 this evening via web or email. But all contacts welcome.
