I am looking for a source of brake shoes for a Kalamazoo motor car. I would describe this as a gang car as it has a Wisconsin engine and a three speed transmission and can carry six. The brake shoe is 8 inches long and 2 1/16 inches wide.

What's the wheel diameter? If there's anything left to rivet to, your local truck/industrial brake and clutch supplier can rivet a lining onto them, or, if your so inclined you can do it yourself, mccmaster car has a nice selection of material. https://www.mcmaster.com/brake-lining

John:
I bought the last Kalamazoo brake shoes from the Tamper SC plant maybe 15 years ago for my two Kalamazoo model 27 gang cars. 16 inch wheels. I also got a bunch of new and used shoes from various sources over the years and they have kept me going with the limited use that my one remaining car gets. Your only option would be to get some new ones cast, or convert them to the Fairmont liner.....the Fairmont liner will fit on the Kalamazoo wooden shoe and work perfectly well, but of course will look a little different. If you have any questions on Kalamazoo cars, please let me know, I would be glad to help. There is very little literature on these cars and the parts books are pretty useless and there is no real manual to speak of.

Thanks for responding. I think the wheel is 16". The Fairmont liner may be the way to go.
