The Durango and Silverton railroad is accepting applications for two engine watchman positions, one year around and one summer seasonal. The D&S is Americas busiest steam railroad running nearly 600 steam days annually.

Engine watchman basic duties include maintaining adequate fire and water in steam locomotives during the evening and overnight hours, servicing locomotives, assisting in minor mechanical repairs, cleaning fires and preparing locomotives for service.
These positions are considered entry level mechanical department positions and as such no experience is required, however, applicants with basic mechanical abilities are preferred. Candidates with previous steam experience or additional mechanical abilities such as welding, torching, or any machining experience will be given preference.

Both positions are full time 40+ hours week with the year around position having benefits.
Ability to work all shift and all hours is a must. Ability to interview in person if requested to is a must.
