Post subject:  Wanted, drop pit equipment

I am looking for options for a drop pit installation. Need to be able to drop a 70" driver from a steam locomotive. Let me know if you have any options available. Could be a table or cylinder type.

Thanks

Hello Ryan:

I own a Whiting drop pit mechanism: 4-post rolling lift table suitable for 84" drivers, plus the drop pit cover bridge (intact except missing rail). It was originally installed at St. Louis Union Station. All parts are there except the moveable track section that sits on top of the lift table. It's been stored outdoors for 40+ years. Condition is intact but rusty. The drop pit motor will probably need to be be replaced, and the acme-thread lifting screws scrubbed free of rust.

The unit is stored at Golden Gate RR Museum in San Francisco. We need to vacate this site next month, so it's priced for quick sale.
