 Post subject: Mineral Point Depot

The other day, I got my UTU newsletter, I noticed it had a list of the "10 most endagered depots." On the list was the old Mineral Point, Wis. depot. Has the city of Mineral Point or the state of Wisconsin STILL not stepped in to stabilize this grand old Federalist pile of stone? I can't believe that this wonderful depot is being allowed to decay in a town supposedly noted for it's careful historic preservation. After all, it's only the 2nd or 3rd oldest depot left in the nation! (1857) Anyone know the true status of this depot? Old time MR readers will remember this structure imortalized on Paul E. Larson's Mineral Point and Northern. <br>
