anybody know anything about IMAX films? i was wondering what it would take to get one done focusing on steam locomotives running today; as all of you who've seen one of these "in your face" presentations knows they're very impressive and get wide viewership -- it would be a great way to get more people in the general public to pay attention to what we're doing and the chance to link between area museum or tourist lines with theaters (mostly at science museums) is tremendous!

Hell, Jim, you're the writer. How about a nice plot synopsis to start with which can be developed into a script which would be a good showcase for that technology?
Maybe a remake of GREAT LOCOMOTIVE CHASE?
Anyhow, you are fortunate in having a small and definable community of expertise in the film industry in Charlotte. I would start with Thom McIntyre or Terry Loughlin. No idea if the Fincannon Bros are still around town.
Dave
Interestingly enough the idea has sufaced and was discused in depth some years ago. I forgot who the film company doing the Imax work was however Mr. Homer Henry formerly of Santa Fe was the railroad contact. Yes there was some talk about using a steamer for the imax documentary. Perhaps this will yet happen.
Okay, a better idea: Just bribe that movie production crew to do a second camera full of IMAX film/lenses when they shoot Big Boy 4018......
