Hello, and thank you for allowing me to join this site!
My uncle and grandfather were both boilermakers, (one a boilermaker's helper). They started in the B and O site in Connellsville, PA, and then moved to Chicago to work there. I have no pictures of them in their work clothes, and I'd like to include that in my family history book that I'm working on. This would be very helpful for my children and grandchildren to see. If anyone can help me, it would be much appreciated. (If there is another rail site I should be checking, please let me know.)
Thank you. Joe m

A place to look might be on genealogy websites like Ancestry.com, if you know the names of co-workers. The below photo from the 1930s of my DL&W RR-employee great-grandfather, second from left, was taken by a co-worker. He was an immigrant from Ukraine and dirt-poor, it is the only photo I have ever seen of him other than his wedding photos. Most railroad photo takers don't want people in their photos, only locomotives, especially in the past when developing photos was a not unsubstantial cost.

It’s always worth checking with the local historical society:
https://www.connellsvillehistoricalsoci ... and_photos
They’re not train-specific, but they’ll know who is locally. Chicago might be a lot harder to dig through.

The International Brotherhood of Boilermakers still exists. You might try the local first and then the HQ.
