Just be aware when searching that it looks like there is another Helena #3, which is a semi-modern trolley bus that was mentioned in articles around the same time.

I emailed a contact person on the website, sometimes the direct approach works, sometimes it doesn't, we'll see.

I received a response from Pamela J. Attardo, Helena/Lewis and Clark Co. Heritage Preservation Officer, Lewis and Clark Co. Heritage Tourism Council:

Hi,

The trolley project came to a halt with the death of our Foreman, George Hoff several years ago. We have not been able to locate a person who wants to take on this significant time commitment (George was retired and had a real passion to get this done), so the trolley sits there, waiting for someone to reboot this project. Do you know of anyone who might be interested?

Thanks,
Pam

Back in 2007 there was a restoration effort going on three store a wooden body trolley car. The local government set up a website describing the restoration but it's been many years it has been no update.

And it looked like RCD didn't get an answer to his question at that time either. It appeared that they were looking for someone to take over the restoration of the car after the person who was originally doing it, passed away. So, did Helena/Lewis and Clark County find someone? Has progress been made since 2018?

I have room in my driveway but I don't really need another project right now..... and wood prices are still fairly high.

Yes he did get an answer, directly from the person ultimately in charge of the project: work had stopped because the person doing the work died, that is how it stood at that time. If anyone wants a clarification I would suggest contacting the entity in the first post, that is why I included twelve lines of contact information in the first place.

And I asked for an update a while ago and nobody ever came back to me. I even called and asked and nobody returned my phone call so that is why I'm asking here.

Well I got an answer to my question it's still there apparently all the parts was there and still waiting for somebody to do something with it. The person I spoke to said they would like to at least get an estimate of the cost of restoration so they know what they're dealing with and what kind of grants they could go after.
