I happened upon the website of the American Passenger Rail Heritage Foundation (APRHF), a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization whose mission is to preserve and promote the role that passenger rail played in the building of this nation.

Their website has an interesting July 16, 2022 post that shows how two former Amtrak MHCs (Material Handling Cars) were placed on a display track in Lookout Point Park in La Plata, Missouri:
