I believe that the four new EBT passenger cars are meant to copy the passenger cars that the EBT got from the Boston, Revere Beach & Lynn Railroad.

From what I see in the photos they do look nice. Does anyone know who did the design work?

I know the guy who did the design work is the same guy who's done the coaches for the White Pass. I believe the EBT coaches were derived from that basic design, but blending elements of other existing EBT coaches. First all-new coaches for the EBT too, given the others are all second-hand.

Having seen them yesterday and today they're quite impressive. I'm pretty sure there was talk on here a while ago about brush painting vs. spray. Honestly? I don't know how these were painted, but I thought that the PVC siding looked brush painted. They're sharp, they're clean, and should be invaluable to the railroad as a whole. If I didn't know I was looking at a new-build steel car with PVC siding and some nice details to look the part? I honestly might have mistaken the two coaches being prepped for service now for actual wooden coaches.

And they certainly grab the look of the BRB&L coaches. Few tweaks, trolley pole and some traction motors and you could have a decent enough stand-in for one of their EMU conversions...

folks,
I believe the four new EBT passenger cars built for the East Broadtop Railroad are based on the Boston, Revere & Lynn Railroad cars that have been on the railroad since the
1920s. Their numbers are in the same series as the existing passenger cars.

Brief story that names the manufacturer: https://www.railwayage.com/passenger/eb ... nger-cars/
I understand the cars have steel frames but will have non-functional truss rods added.
