I remember when I used to come to this forum to read about ongoing restoration projects and get technical first hand information from the people involved in the project. Now we have these discussions seemingly every day and it seems to be the same few people going back and forth at each other over slightly different topics but always seem to end up in the same pissing matches. It is a sad reflection of society. I truly miss talking about old passenger cars and locomotives.

This forum is a participation sport and reflects what the members wish to talk about. If you post a new thread about a certain restoration project, someone is bound to chime in on it. More nuts and bolts threads are always welcome but someone has to be proactive and start them.

I've always enjoyed having nice looking hostesses on our trains in attractive uniforms and with friendly outgoing personas.

The fact that our gals wear short skirts and stylish blouses probably brands us as " sexist" in today's hyper PC world but that's a price we'll gladly pay.

Just some minor cropping and now it's a chamber of commerce brochure picture...

Whether a car hostess, turning a track wrench, in the engineer's seat, or building your museum's website, it's great to see women involved in rail preservation.

The issues would be -
Are you only hiring females for a particular role?

Are you hiring said females based on how they look?

Except the lighting is inferior. A somewhat common syndrome of "selfies."

Yes for a specific role and yes they must make a nice appearance as well. We also make sure they are educated on the basics so they can intelligently answer most questions.

In some quarters, that statement makes you guilty of sexual harassment. Our society has reached a ridiculous crossroads. Will we choose a route based on common sense, or on political correctness?

You have that right!
I have never been slapped, or kicked between the legs, for saying to a woman that she is attractive, lovely, beautiful, etc..
At a parts store recently, chatting about wearing masks with the gal who was working the counter, I said, I have been noticing peoples' eyes more. I said to her, you have beautiful eyes, which she does. It brightened her day.
Human beings are made in God's Image. To understand that opens up a whole new world in fostering respect for one another and good will.

Yikes! Where to start... Do you need to educate the guys too, or just the girls?

I’d think it’s better for railroad preservation as a whole if this thread went away.

A hazy sky and red sun due to wildfires, I suppose. Doesn't look too bad slightly color-corrected and softened up a bit...

I keep waiting for that British Army Major to come on screen and say this is getting silly. But he must be long since retired and growing lupines in Blortmanshire.

Folks, this image was in Facebook. FACEBOOK!

The nice lady is wearing appropriate outerwear for a Summer day and anything inappropriate is in the eye of the beholder.

That was a pretty good Seinfeld episode. "Anyway there's at least four of them, and they're all huge. And one is bigger than the next. It's like a Russ Meyer movie!"
