The editor of the Bulletin has been very active recently in reaching out to authors to seek articles for the publication. But authors are in a situation just like the volunteers, and what they are interested in writing at a particular time may not coincide with the article needs of the historical organizations at the same time. And when "calendar" events come along, there tends to be a saturation of articles relating to those events, often to the detriment of other topics.

That "smaller box" no longer contains columns of stale news, something that a the quarterly publication can't compete with the internet on. The Bulletin is good at publishing non-time sensitive material, and the shift to color is a bonus.
