The historic freight car "fleet" at the Hoosier Valley Railroad Museum in North Judson got another update when work on Norfolk & Western three-bay coal hopper #40639 was recently completed. Museum member Mark Knebel did another beautiful job on repainting, and relettering, the car.

Great job, so glad to see all these recent freight car projects!

Yeah, I thought that as well.
It would have bene neat if they could have done like a 1:1 scale model railroad car and weathered the impact to look like it was recent. But if they'd had, someone would think someone had just damaged the car.

Les,
I wish more museum would display freight trains. At WRM, we have a freight train of wood cars with a SN electric steeple cab in front an an SN caboose at the back. One of the box cars is from the Richmond, Fredericksburg & Potomac!

The problem with freight cars is they wandered all over and it is had to define them in a scope of collections.
