Wow, this has been 'spam day' from Amtrak.

If anybody else is on their open bid offer list, you've been deluged with used equipment bid offers today. I think I've had at least 20 from two individuals.

Car components, MOW stuff, used trucks (rubber tired) etc. Some beat and some really beat, then things like new emergency brake valves for the GE's that are still on a pallet.

If anybody wants any of this stuff forwarded, PM me... I don't have any clients on a fishing expedition at the moment.

The asset disposition specialist is Darlene.Severson@amtrak.com

The blizzard of emails is only identified by an offer number and consists of everything from individual switch frogs to used pickup trucks and track maintenance equipment. I've requested a single master list of what's for sale so that it can be reposted here. There's just too much to weed through and attempt to reclassify.

It's also scattered all over the US - it's not at a single site for inspection.

On previous sales they've been somewhat organized as a master list and consolidated location so I'm not sure if this is indicative of a new policy.

The response to the list request was:

"Sorry, it is done via location.

People can reach out to me if more information is needed.

We try to break it down to make it easier to manage & provide other details."

But in general, if you want to know about this stuff now or in the future, contact them to get on the notification list as I can't find any posted information anyplace else.

There are a couple significant hirail truck vehicles there, and a bunch of other vehicles that would likely require a flatbed to get out. And weird parts like baggage racks for the Acela, a couple UT wheel testers.... I'm guessing the word went out to every Amtrak location to clean out the junk and get it out for sale.

And then, looking again, this one might actually be very useful to somebody (out of Hialeah/Miami, FL)
