The passage and signature of yesterday's CARES Act opens the door for possible low interest and possible forgivable (read grant) loans to bridge the economic impact caused by the shut down of parts of the country. So for discussion, what do the operators that have been forced to shut down and furlough some or most of your employees think of this program? Do you think this will help you retain people and programs or is more time needed to see how this is going to shake out? Are you concerned that more details and time are needed or that this is going to be your only shot to survive as the operation as you were?

PLEASE let's keep this to how it will help or not and not move into a larger discussion about the political side of all of this. We need to help each other get through this as opposed to promoting any divides. I do realize that generally there has been some resistance to open discussion about "strategy" outside of the Heritage Rail Alliance but some broader discussion could be beneficial.

The second part of this is how do you see this early on regarding how things get back to normal. Are you going to have to close exhibits? Just think of how the Smithsonian might have to deep clean and continue to clean post re-opening. People like to touch history and ride the trains you provide. What is the best path forward to protect visitors and at least present a perception that your facilities and/or trains are "clean" or do you think people will at some point return to the old "norm?" The reason for the latter part of that question is history shows that we do tend to wane in our vigilance. Sort of the "throw the bums out" political stance which always seems to disappear over time.

This is a topic that really needs to be explored as we all look for a way forward. I hope we can all give it some consideration and discussion.

Thanks!
