We started construction of the Lyon in the winter of 1996, with ordering the driving wheel center patterns.
And went on through building the frame, cylinders, saddle, and foot plate.



The rods and valve gear were designed and finished. The boiler was designed and well along being built when the 2001 recession caused funding to diminish, and work to stop. The owner took the Lyon back home to Iowa circa 2010, and continued with work himself and with Dave Kloke and others from there.
I am thrilled to see that she is so far along and in good hands.
