For those of you wishing to register as a new member of RYPN. Please choose a username that reflects your real name or if you must, a username that is recognizable as having railroad content. We receive several new member requests a day and if a username looks like it has been created by a spambot, that registration is deleted. Facebook is the largest social media platform in the world and it is based on using real names. I think we can do that here and not only eliminate these registration problems but also help us all to better network with each other. There is nothing so secret in railway preservation that we cannot stand behind what we post. This is an example of a few recent rejected usernames that we get: ArethaStg41587 natusianails21 VickyYir EstelleCcb0202 Obviously spambots are creating these names. Capitalization and spaces are permitted in username selection, hence my username "Rick Rowlands". Thanks Everyone! |

Yes, I agree, spam can see right away. There is also a generator that gives you usernames and they are all so generic you see them in right away :) |
