General Tire used a 93-1157 and Swift Red combo on their signs, identical to the colors Santa Fe Trail put on their tractor-trailers...

More vintage General Tire signs can be found here if you guys want to check out the variation in the yellow as photographed. One of them has a Coke can stuck in front of it...

This is the whole 1941 house paint sheet in the morning sun. Notice how Old English Brown is flashing that reddish color. You can also see the bronze popping out in the Bronze Green just like Mr. Uebele stated in his book. The Western Maryland's building gray is one of those three lighter grays while the Pennsy's is one of the two darker grays.

No.191 Crimson Red might be of interest to Western Maryland folks as well...

Here's a morning shot of the Hummelstown station, apparently taken sometime in April, showing the red in the brown as well...

Here's the unobstructed view of the 1933 brochure since the last time I took a picture of it I had the cards from the NPRHA set lying all over it. LOL The dark greens aren't showing that well, though, since that part of the sheet is slightly angled away from the light. Looking at the Southern Pacific's yellows, I've seen two distinct colors in photos so I'd be considering Bright Straw Yellow, Dark Buff, and Colonial Yellow...

LMAO!!! Yeah, just forget what I said about the Annville and Emmaus stations being painted in any other colors besides the creamy yellow and brown because I'm trying to. In this pic, the stationmaster at Emmaus has Canna lilies planted in the flower bed...

For the moment, my best match for the Southern Pacific's Colonial Yellow is DuPont No. 67 Dark Buff...

DuPont No. 814 Colonial Yellow looks like a lighter shade of Borden Yellow and seems to fit nicely in-between 5925 Cream and 242 Kraft Yellow. Dodge Sunset Yellow is actually quite similar to No. 67 Dark Buff but a couple shades lighter...

Anyway, here's Franklin Street on a desolate weekend winter morning with nary a soul in sight...

On this old postcard of the Gettysburg station, these colors as depicted look like they could be pretty close when compared to Franklin Street there. The coaches appear to be colorized in a reddish-brown as well but perhaps a little darker...

No. 191 Crimson Red matches Dulux 93-002 Red which is sometimes also labeled as Crimson. No.77D Old English Brown is just a bit lighter than Dulux 93-036 Brown, a.k.a. WE5594...

My old Canon is apparently pretty good at bringing out the red in these browns. 93-036 Brown is the best match for Pullman 70-28 Illinois Central Brown in the Kalmbach book. Pullman 70-61 Frisco/Katy Maroon underneath the fan deck cards looks just like 93-3516 GMC Permanent Red since that's the color of the fan deck binder. Permanent Red is the next chip down from 93-002 Red in the 1954 catalog. The maroons have been tough for me to pin down so this could be a fresh start with those...

Here's one of the Grater's Ford (Graterford) station featuring a crowd of folks waiting for the train who just got baptized in the mighty Perkiomen. Looks like the colorization artist got a bit carried away with the yellow but if you compare it with the General Tire signs, it's really not that far out of line...

At least we all know now what GMC Permanent Red looks like in old pictures, hopefully... LOL

The seller wanted an arm plus all three legs for this 1941 DuPont fleet fan deck so I left it sit. The 225-prefix codes are for the Pyralux line. Several of the 98-prefix brushing Dulux codes are listed and now we yet another name for 93-242 Kraft Yellow. 93-1157 is called Enterprise Cream. There are only about 40 color cards total so several of them apparently have more than one 93-prefix code number like perhaps Aurora, Texaco, and A&P Reds...

I'll tell you what, if anyone wants to physically check the actual collection of these Pullman drift cards against the automotive fleet colors, I'll send them everything I've got. They didn't put all of the samples in the book.

According to the author, Mr. Arthur D. Dubin, at the time the Pullman Notebook was published, the collection was held at the Illinois State Historic Library which is now the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library & Museum located in Springfield...

I'd still like to get ahold of some implement color charts yet, though.

I never did put up the whole Andrew Brown sheets but they're all pretty familiar colors by now. LOL They're still available on eBay if somebody wants them...
