One of the nice things about driving old Dodges is that people tend to think twice about pulling out in front of you... LOL

Yeah, I might end up in Wernersville by the time this thread is finished but the 93-94967 Sunset Yellow chip has been by far the easiest to manipulate and match up with various random pics of the 1962 yellow, much more so than 93-1290 Venetian Yellow...

I believe I have more to examine there with Sunset Yellow so here's Page 10 of the 1967 fleet catalog with the darker greens. 24430 Seacrest Green, 5316 New Oliver Green, and 6202 Green are located in the lower left. The Tyco model still matches 046 Morat Green but look right above 1317 in the second column and there it is, the Southern's 5800 chip!!!...

The truth behind 93-5800 can now finally be revealed. LOL Darker than New Idea Green, 93-1317, its General Motors code number is WE5770...

Packard offered a "Sylvan Green" in 1949 and Cadillac in 1971 but both of those are yellow-green polychromatic colors...

The last time we looked at the Southern's Crescent green, I had placed that color as the still-to-be-identified WE5768 based upon photos of the newer paint jobs but now we're back on the other side of 1317 (WE5646) as we should be. The Martin-Senour number for 93-5800 is 11511...

I'll get back to Sunset Yellow here shortly but since we're down south right now, here's a good one for the ACL guys to take a look at... LOL

About that Southern Pacific Socony Red, well, Eric's numbers just happen to align with WE5880, the darker of the two carnelian reds I had posted about earlier in regards to the Lehigh Valley. WE5884 is only a hair lighter so if WE5880 is Socony Red, does that make WE5884 Cornell Red or are they both WE5880?...

Socony and Cornell red are two different colors.

BTW, the numbers aren’t mine - almost all were/are railroad specified. The rest are color matched from samples provided to the coating suppliers. Guesswork is not allowed in the cross reference or it would be worthless as a historical reference.

Agreed, Eric, and I just heard a nasty rumor that at least the earlier LV Cornell Red is the same color as the Milwaukee Road's maroon so this one's getting sent back to the research department... LOL

Okay, here's #3640 with its original horns again along with #486. Now you can see the difference between the two yellows...

They found various parts of a Bob Ross painting scattered within 200 feet of the scene of the crash so the coroner determined it was a happy accident...
