And the Northern Pacific's 1947 dark green, I think that's the color that ended up on the SP&S...

I'm still attempting to refine the dual chip match technique. LOL The second comparison was done with photos instead of scans...

Pullman Green is fairly easy for me to line up with the Great Northern now as long as I can find the right pictures to do it with. The greens on the NP and SP&S are obviously darker and less yellow like the Reading's Brewster and BNSF's Charleston Greens, however...

Since I mentioned it over here...

viewtopic.php?f=1&t=46199

Chevy Truck Cardinal Red is the chip on the left. It is slightly darker than Scarlet but not quite as much as Toreador/Brite Red. All three are a little more orangey than Flambeau Red on the right...

A Cardinal Red is listed for the SLSF so if you're a Frisco guy, you'd know why I might try to compare Chevy Truck Cardinal Red body color with the Chevrolet engine block orange/red color.

Good luck with that, though... LOL

But alas, there is another Hugger Orange, also known as Red-Orange...

http://paintref.com/cgi-bin/colorcodedi ... d%20Orange

As opposed to searching for Chevy Truck Red-Orange, GMC Hugger Orange produces more conclusive potential alternative example results...

https://duckduckgo.com/?q=GMC+Hugger+Or ... &ia=images

I've always heard there were actually two Chevrolet engine red colors between the small and big blocks and how they relate to GMC's red engine color, I don't know. I did find a Ditzler/PPG code for the GMC engine red, however, that being 71881.

So, here's a portion of a 1973 DuPont Chevrolet Truck/GMC chip chart. 513 Flame Red is Swift Red, both 514 Red chips are Chevy Truck Cardinal Red, 516 Orange is Omaha Orange, and Red-Orange/Hugger Orange is the 524 chip. 21677 White is there, also...

Since there was such a poliferation of really bright reds by 1972, I'm sure the Hugger Oranges are in there somewhere. Here are all the fan deck reds up to and including WE5871 Scarlet...

Anyway, I was just interested on how it might compare to the Reading's red... LOL

Dodge Kiltie Green is an old fleet dark green I haven't talked about much so here's that...

https://forums.aaca.org/topic/338982-19 ... tie-green/

It's not olive but more of a blackened chrome green and a little bit lighter than the darkest green in the fan deck, WE5780...

The Pullman Notebook describes 70-34 Kansas City Southern green as appearing green only when compared to glossy black in bright sunlight but lighter than the Pennsy's DGLE which could make Dodge Kiltie Green a potential candidate for that color. The red is 70-35 and is identified as Swift Red...

HMMMM, it would now appear the window band color was Woodfield (Seacrest) Green and not Narva...
