If we go by this pic, Phil, the RBMN would appear be using 5316 New Oliver Green... (wink, wink)

...and 6202, the color I began this thread with, is the slightly bluer version of 5316...

BTW, we're not finished with those '50's Ditzler/PPG numbers so speaking of the very first post in this thread, here are those for the Railway Express Agency up to and including the new colors for 1954. 41737 should be the same as 40386, DuPont 6202, General Motors WE5645, and Libman Mop Handle Green...

If we can recall, the darker DuPont 1317 is the sixties-era REA Express green as well as Mayflower's historical green color along with 1226 Diamond Yellow and 1863 Swift Red. I haven't performed one of these dual chip matches for about six months now but this one came out fairly close using the the scanned Martin-Senor chips for the equivalent DuPont 1317 and 5316.

5316 is one of those common agricultural colors, often called "Meadow Green", and is easy to obtain off-the-shelf, 1317 as well. Remember my fenceposts?

Anyway, it looks like I was totally wrong about the Reading & Northern using 1317 and this picture proves it!!! LOL

The yellow on the RBMN units does seem to be a hair lighter and less greenish than that on the trailer, however.

Please let us know what you find out, Phil!!!

Ooooo, I got this one to line up pretty well with 6202 and 046 GMC Morat Green, WE5650, at least on the hood. The dirty cab looks more like 1317... LOL

Okay Phil, here is that M.U. photo I was looking for which was apparently taken in 1964. If we line Chevy Truck Seacrest Green up with the window band, then we very well may be looking for yet another green like you thought, perhaps one of those darker blue-greens such as Chevy Truck Forester Green also pictured. The more yellowish-green 2015 GMC Brewster Green chip doesn't even come close...

That's one of the MU cars that got overhauled in the late 1940's/early 1950's. They're the same two shades of green used on the 2000-series "Zeppelin" cars and the skirted 1300 and 1500 cars. WK&S used those colors on their ex-R.Co. cars.

The unrebuilt steam and MU cars use a single browner shade of green. MU Car 800 at RRMPA is this color. NOTE the car has not been restored; that's the paint R.Co. used. The car has been indoors basically since it came out of service.

I don't know, Phil. The last time I was at Strasburg, #800 had what seemed to be very fresh looking paint with a slight grayish cast along with a brighter yellow vinyl stick-on lettering. Remember, I had to resist the urge to pick at it. LOL I still haven't gotten back down there to recheck the cab display models yet but hope to soon.

I did another dual chip match with #2010 and Seacrest Green. This time, Chevy Truck Forester Green came right in...

Right: the vinyl stick-on lettering is what RDG put on things in the 1970's.

Well, here's the paint color difference between the #860 cab display model on the left and M.U. #800 on the right...

At RRMPA, the 860 cab is a mockup of an FM TrainMaster cab while 800 is an MU coach. R.Co. numbered both its MU cars and TrainMasters in the 800 series. MU coaches were 800-888 and TM's were 800-808 and 860-867 (passenger equipped).

There were potential conflicts between TM's in passenger service and MU cars. Train Orders to MU cars specified "MU Eng. 8XX" to differentiate. In the 1960's, after the TM's were no longer operating in MU territory, they were renumbered into the 200's after this number block had been vacated by the retirement of the EMD freight cab units.

You're making me wanting to post more Trainmaster pictures again, Phil. LOL

This is what we're getting now, however. It's still pretty early yet and there's a lot going on here so I'll attempt to decipher it all as the day progresses...

Forester Green looks good in combination with both GMC Narva Green and Chevy Truck Seacrest Green, especially when Seacrest Green appears darker and bluer than it does here...

Appearing darker and bluer, this 1951 Chevy is sporting what remains of its original factory Seacrest Green paint. I thought before the WK&S may have used Brewster and Narva Greens together but hey, it could be Brewster and Seacrest... LOL
