We are at the stage in the process that we are ready to begin fabrication of the N6b cupola. We have copies of the drawings for the car but find the side view of the cupola is lacking most of the dimensions. While we do have the remnants of one side of the original, the bottom is gone, rotted away so we have no idea how far down into the car it went. We have the width and length of the window frames but the length of the end pieces are are a mystery. Can anybody help us out with these critical dimensions?

Thanks!
Mr. Ed

Back in 1982, I removed the roof of my N6b cabin car to move it over the highway. As I recall the transverse parts of the cupola came down and overlapped the car lines and took about 8 carriage bolts to hold them together. The sides simply sit on top of the top of the roof and are retained by several long threaded rods that went all the way from the side still up through the side sill of the cupola. Nuts were accessible through window sills.
