Report from a PRR e-mail group list: Quote: The Midwest Railway Preservation Society had acquired the PRR Business car Illinios 7506 (the second 7506 which was formerly PRR 7503 (the second 7503) in a trade for a NYC baggage car years ago. The car has sat for so long that it has deteriorated beyond restoration. The car is currently being cut up for scrap. MRPS had salvaged all that could saved inside and unknown if the saved the rear platform railing and markers. Mrps has a face book page where you can see a picture of the scrapping. I have not been able to find said photos. It should be noted that, although little notice of this car has been made recently, the car was being made available, even here, as far back as 2001, with apparently no takers: viewtopic.php?t=2442 May 2012 photo: https://www.flickr.com/photos/75995525@N03/8072581819 |

Let's hope the trucks are being saved as well. Rather a(nother) sad loss. |

I don't know it's name, but if anyone has photos or a consist list of Mac's equipment, it's that one, part of the 1938 Broadway Ltd. |

Just a note, the Railways of America building still exists, as a furniture store - Furniture Depot, 3656 State Rd., Cuyahoga Falls, across the road from a Ford dealership. In the early 1960's it was practically in the country, now it's part of the suburban sprawl, not too far from another NE Ohio landmark, Blossom Music Center, about two miles away. I was one of those kids who liked to go there on a Sunday afternoon, watch the O-Scale trains go round, and ride the Ottaway Aerotrain around the property, after having had "broasted" chicken in the Pennsy diner, made by Mack's wife Blondie herself. |
