I have heard from several reliable sources outside of the organization that Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum is acquiring an F Unit that is stored on the Caney Fork & Western to run with their former Southern Railway E Unit. Does anyone know the heritage of this locomotive and who owns it?

So is this an ex-Mailwaukee unit? Those are usually very rusty. Is this an Ed Bowers collectable?

It is indeed being speculated on a CF&W facebook page, by those who have seen the original post here, that this former Milwaukee FP-7 (60A) used on an excursion train on another nearby Ironhorse Resources shortline, Walking Horse RR, until around 10 years ago and derelict since, might be involved. I must note however that no one has been able to confirm the theory of our OP here. Here it was in February of this year (top) and 2016 (bottom):

If TVRM is looking for another cab unit to complement their E unit, RMNE has an FL-9 for sale; it has been in the RyPN Classifieds since April.

I think they got an F unit with the #5288 from Steamtown. I think it went straight to storage, not sure of its heritage. I remember reading it in their newsletter when they got the #5288 all those years ago.

TVRM had a Milwaukee Road E unit years ago. IIRC, it went to scrap. The F units located at East Chattanooga (last I knew) are private property of a member and are ex NC&St. L.

Around 1997 TVRM acquired Haysi RR #1. An ex-Clinchfield B unit turned into a remote control unit. I was listening to my scanner the night NS moved it through Morristown,Tn when enroute to Chattanooga via Frisco,Bulls Gap and Knoxville. I remember the NS train crew referred to it as "the scrap engine" as it set off a hot box detector east of Morristown.(By the sounds of them it was not the first trouble they had with it.) I think it then sat at Sevier yard in Knoxville for at least several days. TVRM was lucky that NS continued to move it I guess.

Wow, I had no idea they had that!
Just looked it up and found this 2002 photo. Has it improved since this was taken?

The two Clinchfield B units at TVRM are privately owned, including the Haysi unit.
