Post subject:  OT: Amtrak Retirees -- Check your vision benefit provider

I found out today when looking for a vision care provider for my daughter that Cigna Vision is no longer my Eye Care Insurer.

Amtrak switched to EyeMed. The eye doctor I've been using for decades is not in network at EyeMed.

I might have missed a notice, but the Amtrak Benefits person implied that since EyeMed doesn't use I.D. cards there would have been no mail from EyeMed.

At least I was not in the doctor's office when I found out.

EyeMed has an automated system that will allow you to get your EyeMed Member number and Group ID number. Then you can go to their website and create an account to look up in network providers. To be honest, the list in my area is heavy in the discount / mall type clinics vs. stand alone specialists.
