I have been fortunate enough to have very large but incomplete builder's list for the McGiffert and Barnhart log loaders. Always glad to share and swap information.

Does your McGiffert list go back before the 1907 Clyde Iron Works fire?

Unfortunatly not, the Clyde list I have starts at #1001 April 10, 1908. I have a few older McGifferts that I have gotten from other sources. Is there a particular company you are interested in?

Pretty much anything from Louisiana. In particular, the Alexandria Lumber Co, and the Crowell and Spencer Lumber co. before 1908.

Thanks, that fills in some holes. Interesting that the Barnharts were used mostly in SE Louisiana.

This is the only American log loader I have for Louisiana:

966 Model F LL 04-18 Crowell & Spencer Lbr. Co. Ltd. #1 Long Leaf, LA
supplied with ¾ yard clamshell bucket for ditching

There were most likely others but this is the only one I have a record for.
