Canada's biggest railroad collection and displayed in context, with care and thoughtfulness. The only surviving FM Trainmaster is a real prize (thank you, Canada). The pit is a masterpiece of inclusion and an FA1 and FPA$, both in proper colors, add historical perspective to the Diesel era. Some of Canada's largest and most beautiful steam locomotives have found refuge here. CNR Hudson, sister to the one in Elgin Cty Museum, has just been painted and stands majestically in front of a shed. Rather than babble on about what's great at Delson, you can see for yourself. I did not get pictures of a number of locomotives, but VIA is represented as well.
You owe it to yourself to get to Montreal and check it out in person.

Last I saw, the LNER A4 was in the main hall with the Royal Hudson (maybe even alongside the Hudson) when she came back from the UK. Looks like she is now back in another building?

That's where she was when I was up there last year. It was an interesting comparison having her and the Royal Hudson side-by-side over the pit, exposing things like the A4's inside cylinder, crank axle, and plate frames, compared to North American practice.

Good evening,

LNER A4 - Dominion of Canada was moved out of the main display hall, as part of an overall review of equipment on display in the building. It is now in building 5. Other equipment will be placed on display inside, including former VIA 15513 - Sibley Park.

The moving of the A4 into non climate-controlled "Building 5" and indications of "a full audit of rolling stock" at Exporail has now generated an Editorial and two full (A4 sized) pages in the latest edition of the UK magazine "Steam Railway" that dropped through my letterbox today.
Needless to say, the dreaded " R-Word" of "Repatriation" to Britain for that loco and the "Terrier" is being banded about quite freely. Will be interesting to see what develops on this in the future - though, personally, I'd rather see the A4 stay in Canada.
