The East Broad Top Railroad interchanged with the PRR at Mt. Union, Pennsylvania. The EBT yard is still there, a full sized outdoor museum slowly rusting away in a place frozen in time since 1956. Kevin Tomasic recently visited Mt. Union and photographed what the Wrecking Ball missed.

I know the EBT is a sore topic for most of us. Has anyone heard of recent news regarding the purchase of the remaining parts of the railroad or how the EBT transfer railroad is doing financially to reach the goals of purchasing the remaining sections of the railroad?

No news lately.

I saw some pics recently that look like the East Broad Top Connecting RR did not have any stored cars in the yard.

When I was there in April 2016, they had cars stored in the Mt. Union yard and on the exPRR spur.

Pics here:

Some of the Conrail coal hoppers stored in Mount Union were scrapped on-site earlier this year.
