MRPS has just finished restoring our HEP car. Work included extensive repairs to the body and roof, replacement of flooring, fabrication of new baggage doors, sand blasting and painting. The car is lettered Cleveland Terminal and Valley which is a corporate name that is used by MRPS. CTVX 4412 will be in service soon at Dennison Railroad Depot Museum for their Fall Foliage trips on Oct.6 and 7 and their Polar Express trips on dec.7,8,9,14,15 and 16.

Real nice work!

That is something on my short term radar, building a HEP car.

What does the little hamster wheel thing say? Powered by a million ??? I can't make it out.

The masked and caped super hamster is riding a tricycle inside of the treadwheel. That is driving gears which are connected to a belt driven generator. The lettering says Powered by a Million HKW which is for hamster kilowatts. One of our mathematically oriented Volunteers figured out that in order to produce the 550 kwh that the two generators in the car produce that you would need a million hamsters on treadwheels.

Historical note: I'm sure many here figured out that Cleveland Terminal and Valley RR was the corporate predecessor name for what became the CT&V sub of the B&O (completed in 1880), and today's Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad. Nice to see the name being kept alive.

The power car went to Dearborn at Rougemere Yard enroute from Cleveland to Columbus. Hopefully it will make it to Dennison Railroad Depot in time for their Fall foliage Trips on Oct. 6 and 7.

Fingers crossed. Past experience dictates that these are treated as "It'll be there when it gets there" kind of shipments unless you pay extra and then you add "maybe sooner" to that statement.
