Is that an old South Shore caboose?

Those drawings show a caboose lettered for the Rio Grande (!) and the box car lettered for the ORIGINAL Norfolk Southern (!!). Sure would have been neat if those particular paint schemes had actually been put on those two pieces of equipment! Not sure if any equipment exists in preservation that is lettered for the original NS.

Three notable pieces of ORIGINAL Norfolk Southern equipment in preservation restored to their NS lettering/paint scheme are:

Baldwin AS-416 #1616, North Carolina Transportation Museum, Spencer, NC

Camp Car 911, North Carolina Transportation Museum, Spencer NC

Caboose 335, New Hope Valley Railway, Bonsal, NC

Thanks Paul! I was able to find a photo of the caboose:

Good to know that a little bit of the original Norfolk Southern still exists.
