Does anyone know when the Nickel Plate Road 757 will be moved from the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania to the Mad River and NKP museum in Bellevue OH? If so, will it be going through Enola and onto the NS Pittsburgh line and the Horseshoe Curve? I am interested in getting photos of the loco during this time and do not want to miss the move.

There is no schedule or hard time frame for this move. It was only recently inspected by Norfolk Southern for movement, but there is still work to do and money to raise for the trip home.

Mad River recently topped $100,000 in donations and has a donor match and raffle up to $10,000 until August:

They recently completed a series of test runs on the Strasburg Rail Road. Video update is here:

Good Afternoon,

In my drive by to work yesterday morning past the RRMPA, the 757 had been moved out along Route 741 nearly the West yard gate. I’d the move west to happen shortly? Perhaps this was in a previous post and I missed it.

Thank you.

You know, this is the first time I've seen the raffle advertised.
I am so glad to see 757 being sent to home territory, and to people who'll make her the focal point of their collection.

NKP No. 757 was moved from it previous location last week to allow the RRMPA shop personnel to relocate other equipment in anticipation of moving PRR B-6sb No. 1670 (0-6-0) into the pole shed for media blasting in the next couple or three weeks. By moving No. 757 to its current location, it will be much easier for the Strasburg RR to get it when it is time to move it, whenever that happens.

According to a video post on The Red Caboose Motel's Facebook page, NKP 757 and her caboose are on the move today, out to the Interchange. Let the railfanning and chasing begin!

Superheater has the pom-poms, not me. Besides, I moved a couple thousand miles in the interim.

In the meantime, best wishes and congrats to the pertinent parties.

Let's remember:

1) I didn't promise any money; someone else suggested I do so on my behalf. Let's have someone else tell you what to do with your money and see what your reaction is.

2) I harbor no ill will towards the Mad River and NKP Museum and the repatriation crew or their efforts, but I still to this day object to the RR Museum of Pa. declaring this surplus and reducing the significant inventory of non-PRR rolling stock. It's kind of like not supporting a loco being painted in a garish, non-authentic paint scheme it never had, you know?

3) I was privy to some "inside information" regarding the fundraising of this project which convinced me that the funds were best subscribed by others closer to Bellevue and the Museum, as opposed to my funds. Nothing negative whatsoever about MR&NKP, mind you. Just a reappraisal of personal priorities.

4) STILL waiting for that 21st Century Express/Yellow Ribbon Express/whatever, of course. In fact, I just recently came across one of the cars that I was told spent some time in Pottstown a while back..........

NS picked it up and it's on the way with a shiny NKP Cabin as rider car.
