The UP drawings and photos threads got me to thinking so I'm going out on a limb here.... Since I'm setting up a web page to present paint information, I'll go a bit further and volunteer to add other types of valuable info either to that page or add additional pages. I have unlimited web space so quantity is not a problem.

Of course it'll depend on whether or not we see a value in doing so.

Thoughts?

I think a library of PDF docs regarding locomotive appliances is long overdue. This stuff is occasionally found in heaps at train shows or in estate sales, but manuals with notations, measurements, drawings, are invaluable in this day and age.

As long as the documents remain open to all parties without fee, and made prominently available on the web, I would say "go for it".

RCD: I have permission from George Ellwood to provide a link to his manuals page. If I can get permissions from the contributors or if someone donates files without distribution restrictions, I will host the files directly.

Richard: Everything will be presented free for all with unrestricted access for your use, not, however, for others monetary gain (I take my copyrights seriously). This is for the benefit of the preservation community.

I've finally gotten some time to start a page with a bit of info for free download and links to other sites that involve railroad preservation. There's not much there yet - maybe it will grow or maybe it will be transferred to a more suitable site somewhere down the road. Time will tell. I'd be happy to host PDF documents of relevant preservation data as long as there's no copyright infringement.
