Colebrookedale does own the Wheeling car, but it was moved to its current location due to cheaper shipping (Indiana vs Pennsylvania) and the availability of safe storage. They are also open to other buyers for this car.

Philadelphia County appears to have a solution and funding in hand for relocation.

From June 23: "This is the Philadelphia County departing Southport Indiana for Southern Indiana and safe storage" https://www.facebook.com/john.owen.5815 ... 500786277/ Mr. Owen had some health issues in the middle of moving the car out of Noblesville, but it is now secure.

LAST of the former ITM inventory in Logansport, Indiana. Helping scrapper to dispose of last few items. Per scrapper the prices are non-negotiable.
-1947 40’ L&N Box Car. Missing stirrup steps on one end are in the car. Solid car with surface rust, nothing intrusive. Floor has one bad spot by the door. Roof solid and doesn’t leak. Wheels are thin as photod.
10k
-60+ Walk-Over Seat Backs by themselves. There are approximately 40 COMPLETE Passenger Car seats (backs, seats & frames). These are NOT walk-overs. Passenger Car Windows (included in the deal see photos)
2k for everything
-2 heavyweight trucks $4k/pair (see photos)
As a disclaimer……we don’t own this equipment and are only helping the scrapper in trying to find homes for the equipment before being disposed of.
Interested parties can PM for additional info."

Photos at link. The boxcar, which is a 50' or possibly 60', not a 40', is likely dead meat as it seems unlikely anyone will pay $10k for a boxcar, but perhaps someone needs the other stuff.

What happened to the ex-Alcoa Ohio crane. Was it scrapped? I know the ex-Purdue Orton crane is in Francesville, IN.

I found this photo on rrpicturearchives. I believe it to be the same caboose.

If you look at Nickle Plate Express' google maps pictures, you can find pictures from last month that show that crane.

I hope this helps.

Wow. That’s a different take on “restoration”. Looks like furniture. But, ya know… I kinda like it.

i will send the photo of the GTW caboose, on it's trucks, to another member who has agreed to download it. Sorry for the bother.

Nope. You have to upload the file as a file in the dialogue box below your post-editing box, not use a URL or IMG link to a file on your computer.

I’ve been through the area since the shut down, but I haven’t been there when “the location” is open. What is it now? Just a ride with the GP, F, and ex-Santa Fe cars? A museum, or maybe sue do-museum, but with very little equipment? Why scrap the L&N boxcar, or anything else there that could be a simple display? That’s a nice park and area, does somebody see a “rusty junk” boxcar and think scrap?

Old freight cars don’t generate income so they don’t seem to get much lovin’. I’d like to see ours get repainted into their original schemes instead of the current nondescript paint but it does take cash and manhours….

The boxcar was in off-site storage at Logansport, at an old tire factory I believe, and the city of Logansport ordered everything cleared out, as scrap metal or otherwise.

Just for completeness if these are still available does anyone know if the Hoosier Valley Trolley group saw the walkover seat backs? Some appear to be Rattan (sp?)/bamboo and may go to or fit one of the trolleys that they have. https://www.hoosiertrolley.org/

It appeared that there were some bulkhead seat backs in the lot that sometimes are harder to find. The scrap value is not likely high (probably costs money to landfill those seat cushions) but the value of having frames and hardware for re-upholstery could be high.

I am guessing this is the end of some of the ITM equipment.
